Kerala Engineering, Agriculture And Medical Entrance Exam - KEAM 2019

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala conducts the Kerala Engineering, Agriculture And Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM) for students who wish to pursue a course in engineering, agriculture, medical, architecture or veterinary in various government and private colleges and institutions within the state of Kerala.

NEET is mandatory for all the Medical & Allied courses (MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homoeo, Siddha, Unani, Agriculture, Veterinary, Forestry, Fisheries) under KEAM

KEAM 2019 consists of a number of subjects from which the candidates have to select a subject of their choice per requirement and eligibility criteria.

Medical Programs: MBBS, BDS, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS), Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), BUMS (Unani). Candidates appearing for medical courses will have to appear for NEET 2017 conducted by CBSE.
Agriculture Programs: Bachelor of Science Agriculture (B.Sc. Hons. Ag.), Bachelor of Science Forestry (B.Sc. Hons. Forestry)

Veterinary Sciences Programs: Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (BVSc. & AH)
Fisheries Programs: Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc.)

Engineering Programs: Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.), B.Tech. Agricultural Engineering, B.Tech. Dairy Science & Technology, B.Tech. Food Engineering

Architecture Programs: Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.)

Separate entrance examinations for admission to engineering  courses will be conducted by the CEE and the allotment is often based on the rank in these entrance examinations.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Arch. course should compulsorily appear and qualify for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA).

KEAM 2019 Exam Dates

Entrance examinations will be held at different venues covering all the districts in Kerala, New Delhi and Dubai (UAE), on the dates mentioned below as per Indian Standard Time (IST).


  • Online Application submission : From 03.02.2019 (Sunday)
  • Last date for submission of Online Application including Fee payment : 28.02.2019, 5 pm (Thursday)
  • Last date for Online submission of supporting documents : 31.03.2019 (Sunday)
  • Downloading Online Admit Cards : From 10.04.2019 (Wednesday)
  • Date & Time of Engineering Entrance Examination: Physics & Chemistry (Paper-I) : 22.04.2019, 10 am to 12.30 pm
  • Mathematics (Paper-II) : 23.04.2019, 10 am to 12.30 pm 

KEAM 2019 Application Process

  1. Candidates are required to apply online by visiting the official website. They can also obtain it by cash from selected post offices in Kerala

  2. They need to submit only one application form for all the entrance examinations

KEAM 2019Application Fees

  1. General Candidates Rs.800/-
  2. Schedule Caste Candidates Rs. 400/-
  3. Scheduled Tribe Candidates: No application fees
The payment can be made in any one of these ways: by cash at selected post offices in Kerala or through demand draft drawn on a Nationalized/Schedule Bank in favor of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram.

Online application can be done through credit card/debit card/net banking.

The online application process is finally complete only on receipt of the printout of the application along with all requisite certificates, in the office of the CEE.

Candidates, who choose Dubai as their centre for examinations should submit along with their filled in application form, a demand draft for Rs. 12,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only), drawn on a Nationalized Bank in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. These candidates should note that the examinations are conducted as per Indian Standard Time (IST).

KEAM 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  1. The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years as on the 31st December 2019 (No relaxation in the minimum age). However, there is no upper age limit for KEAM–2010.

  2. Candidate should be Indian citizens.

  3. Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the entrance examination.

  4. Candidates belonging outside Kerala are also eligible to apply for KEAM 2019

  5. Academic Qualification for KEAM 2019
    Medical/Agriculture/Veterinary/B.Sc.-Nursing (Ayurveda) and B.Pharm. (Ayurveda) Courses: Candidates should have successfully completed their Higher Secondary Examination or other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50 percent marks in physics, chemistry and biology put together from a recognised board.

    BVSc. & AH Course:
    Candidates should have successfully completed their Higher Secondary Examination or other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50 percent marks in physics, chemistry and biology. They should have also scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in English, physics, chemistry and biology (as per the regulation of the Veterinary Council of India).

    B.Sc.Hon (Agri)/B.Sc.Hon(Forestry), BFSc Courses:
    Candidates should have successfully completed their Higher Secondary Examination or other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology from a recognised board.

    Engineering Courses:
    Candidates should have successfully completed their Higher Secondary Examination or other equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in mathematics only and 50% marks in mathematics, physics and chemistry combined.

    Candidates who have completed a three-year Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, Kerala or equivalent, with a minimum of 50% marks in the final Diploma examination, are also eligible for admission. However, diploma holders candidates are not eligible for admission to the engineering courses offered by Kerala Agricultural University.

    Architecture Courses:
    Candidates should have successfully completed their 10 2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks or any 10 3 Diploma recognized by central or state governments, or an International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks and mathematics as an exam subject.

    Candidates who have scored 40% on NATA are considered for admission to the course. No candidates in any category will receive relaxation of passing score minimum.

Relaxation in marks in the qualifying examination:

  1. A relaxation of 5% marks for all courses will be allowed to those candidates who belong to the communities listed under the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and whose annual family income is up to Rs. 4.5 lakhs (Rupees Four Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only).

  2. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category only need to pass in the qualifying examination. When only grades are provided, a grade covering 45 percent marks is considered criterion for eligibility. For all courses (excepting MBBS/BDS), SEBC and PD candidates (with Locomotory disability between 40 percent to 70 percent of the lower limbs) have a relaxation of 5 percent marks in the qualifying exam.

    MBBS/BDS courses
    Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are required to score a minimum of 40% marks in physics, chemistry and biology put together in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in the Entrance Examination.
