University of Calicut

The University of Calicut is the largest university of Kerala established in 1968.The University was created by bifurcating Kerala University and four post-graduate departments of the University of Kerala operating in Calicut were annexed to the new University along with fifty four constituent colleges spread across seven northern districts.

Admission in University of Calicut

The Directorate of Admissions (DoA) was established in University of Calicut in 2014 for streamlining the entire admission process in the University. The main objective of DoA is to conduct centralized admissions to various courses offered by the University and its affiliated Colleges. 

The University introduced the 'Online registration' for admissions to UG/PG programmes/courses in the academic year 2013-2014 to cater to the aspirations of students who otherwise could not pursue tendering applications, by personally approaching various Colleges spread over 5 districts affiliated to the University for admissions.

University Library

The Calicut University Library, established in 1971 and later renamed after C.H.Mohammed Koya, (the former Minister for Education, Government of Kerala), is concerned with the conservation and dissemination of knowledge to its users. Apart from the University Library a Study Center Library is functioning in the Calicut city to serve the academic community in the Calicut city and around.The library has a rich collection of Books, Journals, Maps, CDs, Theses, Dissertations etc. The collection includes 107948 books and about 2500 back volumes of journals.
